Dr. Katharina Lichtner is Managing Director of the Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation (FLRF), a global philanthropy dedicated to advancing breastfeeding and breastmilk.
Dr. Lichtner earned a Master’s in biochemistry and molecular biology from the Biocenter in Basle, and a PhD in immunology at the Basle Institute for Immunology. She launched her career with McKinsey & Company, then moved into successful entrepreneurship in co-founding Capital Dynamics, a global asset manager, in 1999.
After leading Capital Dynamics both strategically and operationally for nearly 15 years, Dr. Lichtner fused her rich expertise in science, business-building, investing and leadership to guide FLRF on its mission to improve breastfeeding and consequently, mother and child health globally.
Under her direction, FLRF has expanded its network of partners funding basic and translational research that answers knowledge gaps and practical needs with science-backed, publicly available sustainable resources that empower women, families, healthcare providers and communities to achieve their breastfeeding goals.
Throughout her career, Dr. Lichtner has edited and co-authored several books, plus written numerous articles on private equity, clean energy and business creation. She speaks at global investing and health conferences and has served on various Boards, most currently the Swiss Technology Fund Guarantees Committee.
